Project Overview

Touchstone Electric completed a professional GFCI outlet circuit installation with exterior conduit routing for Cantey Foundation Specialists in Charlotte, NC. This Outlets & Switches project, part of our Outlet Installation & Repair services, was finished on May 8, 2026 by our experienced crew: Danny Bishop, Christian Cedillos, Mark Alaev, Tyquan Johnson, and Cash Divver.

Working from our Matthews branch and serving the greater Charlotte area, our team delivered a clean, code‑conscious installation designed for safety, reliability, and easy access for future service.

Scope of Work

  • Installed a dedicated 20A GFCI-protected outlet circuit to supply a single receptacle for dependable power without overloading existing circuits.
  • Mounted and routed 30 feet of 3/4-inch PVC conduit along the exterior to access the crawl space, including appropriate fittings, connectors, and LBs.
  • Pulled UF 12/2 cable through the conduit run to provide durable, moisture-resistant wiring suitable for the application.
  • Neatly penetrated into the crawl space for concealed routing and secure terminations.
  • Obtained and handled the electrical permit to streamline inspection and ensure local code compliance.

Materials and Installation Details

To protect the new branch circuit, our electricians used 3/4-inch PVC conduit with securely spaced supports and weather-appropriate fittings. This provides a durable pathway that shields conductors from physical damage and the elements.

The circuit conductors are UF 12/2, a rugged cable well-suited for damp locations and exterior transitions. The conduit run was planned to minimize exposed lengths, create smooth pulls, and maintain accessible junction points for future maintenance.

All penetrations to the crawl space were made with care for a tight, professional seal. The dedicated nature of the circuit helps limit nuisance trips and ensures the outlet delivers the power required for its intended use.

Why Choose a Dedicated GFCI Circuit?

  • Safety: GFCI protection rapidly interrupts power in the event of a ground fault, an essential safeguard for outdoor and damp-location outlets.
  • Reliability: A dedicated 20A circuit reduces overload risks and improves performance for tools, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Code compliance: Proper GFCI protection, secure conduit routing, and permitted work support a smooth inspection process in Charlotte.
  • Serviceability: Clean, labeled routing and accessible fittings help future troubleshooting and upgrades.
