Project overview

Our Raleigh team completed a safe, reliable GFCI-protected dedicated circuit and standard outlet installation for Re-Bath Raleigh on July 31, 2025. This Outlets & Switches service ensures dependable 120V power for a single appliance or device without sharing load with other areas of the home.

Handled by Cody Perry from our Raleigh branch, the project centered on adding a new single-pole 15/20A GFCI breaker, running a dedicated circuit, and installing a matching receptacle. The result is a clean, code-conscious solution that supports everyday use while enhancing electrical safety.

What we installed

  • 120V GFCI single-pole breaker added to the main service panel for shock protection and improved safety.
  • Dedicated branch circuit designed to serve one outlet only, minimizing nuisance trips and voltage drops.
  • Standard receptacle placed on the new circuit for direct appliance connection.
  • Labeled and tested at the panel and device, including GFCI functionality and load verification.
  • Professional cable routing with up to 50 feet of service wire for a neat, durable installation.

Why a GFCI dedicated circuit?

  • Enhanced protection: GFCI technology helps reduce the risk of electrical shock, especially around kitchens, baths, laundry, and utility areas.
  • Appliance reliability: A dedicated line prevents other devices from sharing power, helping sensitive equipment run consistently.
  • Code-conscious upgrade: Aligns with modern electrical best practices and local requirements for safer living spaces.
  • Fewer nuisance trips: Isolating the load can reduce breaker trips caused by other circuits.
  • Future-ready labeling: Clearly labeled breakers and outlets make future maintenance faster and safer.

Our installation process in Raleigh

We began with a site assessment, confirming the best route for the new run and verifying panel capacity. After selecting the appropriate breaker rating for the intended load, we installed the new GFCI breaker, ran the dedicated circuit, mounted the outlet, and completed device terminations with proper torque and polarity checks.

Every job concludes with safety and performance testing: GFCI trip tests, breaker functionality, and load verification. We also label the circuit at the panel and outlet for clarity.

If a home’s electrical panel cannot safely accommodate another breaker, we provide a clear estimate outlining the work required to add capacity. When upgrades are postponed, our electricians conduct a limited review of available circuits and discuss alternatives so homeowners can make informed decisions.

Ideal uses for a dedicated outlet

  • Refrigerators, freezers, or microwaves
  • Laundry or utility equipment
  • Dehumidifiers, sump pumps, or space heaters
  • Home office electronics or workshop tools
