Project Overview

Our client needed dedicated, GFCI-protected power and durable, weather-resistant receptacles to support outdoor use. We installed new circuits, outlets, and protective covers designed to perform in the elements while meeting current electrical code requirements.

Two 20-amp GFCI dedicated circuits: New 20A GFCI-protected breakers to provide robust protection and capacity for high-demand devices and outdoor receptacles.
Three weatherproof outdoor outlets: Installed standard receptacles downstream of GFCI breaker protection for reliable power access in exterior locations.
Bubble (in-use) covers: Added in-use covers to keep outlets protected even while cords are plugged in, helping prevent moisture intrusion.
THHN #12 conductors: Pulled approximately 150 feet of #12 THHN wiring, with conduit and junction box terminations as required for a neat, serviceable installation.
Junction boxes and conduit connections: Secure, labeled terminations for clean pathways and simplified future maintenance.
Permitting and inspection: Filed the electrical permit and coordinated inspection to close the project properly.

GFCI protection is essential anywhere moisture may be present, including outdoor locations. By placing the protection at the breaker, the entire downstream run of receptacles benefits from automatic ground-fault protection, greatly reducing shock risk.

Weatherproof receptacles paired with bubble (in-use) covers protect connections from rain and splash even while equipment is plugged in. Combined with correctly sized THHN #12 conductors on 20-amp circuits, this setup delivers dependable capacity and safety for exterior power needs.
