Gate Control Wiring & Conduit Installation in Charlotte, NC

Touchstone Electric completed a targeted electrical repair and troubleshooting project for the Davis Lake Community Association in Charlotte, NC. On June 25, 2025, our technician Mark Viktorovich delivered a clean, durable installation to support a secure and reliable entry gate system for the community.

Working out of our Charlotte branch in Matthews, our team coordinated closely with the gate installer to provide the additional conduit paths, THHN wiring pulls, and control box repairs needed to complete the access control upgrades.

What we installed and repaired

To protect wiring, improve serviceability, and ensure smooth integration with the gate controls, we completed the following scope:

PVC conduit runs for protected pathways:
- Approximately 70 ft of 3/4 in. PVC, plus an additional 20 ft for added routing and terminations
- Approximately 10 ft of 1-1/2 in. PVC where a larger pathway was needed
Liquid-tight flexible conduit (1/2 in.) in short sections to bridge into enclosures and equipment while maintaining moisture resistance
Relocated existing conduit to the wall for better clearance, protection, and alignment with the gate equipment layout
Pulled THHN #10 conductors to feed and interconnect gate control components, sized for robust, dependable operation
Gate control box wiring repairs, including re-terminations and organization of conductors for safer, more reliable performance

The result is a clean, well-supported pathway for power and control wiring that helps the entry system operate consistently and remain easier to service over time.

Why this work matters for community access gates

Gate systems face weather, vibration, and frequent cycling. Properly routed PVC conduit, sealed transitions with liquid-tight flex, and correctly sized THHN wiring protect the conductors from moisture and physical damage. Coordination and troubleshooting

We aligned conduit routes and stub-outs to the gate installer’s specifications, then verified conductor paths, labeling, and terminations inside the control box. By addressing wiring issues and relocating conduit for better protection, we helped streamline final commissioning and future maintenance.

With new conduit pathways, fresh THHN pulls, and a tidied, repaired control box, the community now has a more resilient, easier-to-service entry system. The installation supports reliable daily operation and helps minimize downtime for residents and guests.
