Touchstone Electric completed a garage outlet upgrade and circuit extensions for a homeowner in Mint Hill, NC. This Outlets & Switches project, categorized under Outlet Installation & Repair, was handled by technician Brian Cain from our Charlotte (Matthews) branch and finished on January 12, 2024.
The goal was to eliminate unsafe multi-plug use, provide dedicated places to power a refrigerator and freezer, and add convenient access for a garage door opener and a nearby storage room.
Scope of work completed
- Quad garage outlets for appliances: Supplied and installed a four-receptacle setup so the refrigerator and freezer each have a proper place to plug in—no power strips or multi-plugs needed.
- Garage door opener outlet with flex protection: Added a new outlet for the opener by extending power from an existing receptacle and installing flex to protect the wiring from physical damage.
- New storage room outlet: Extended power from an existing garage outlet to add a convenient receptacle in the adjacent storage area.
This job included 3 standard receptacles (with covers) and 2 non-dedicated circuit extensions (up to 25 feet each) to place power exactly where it was needed.
