Garage Conduit and Circuit Wiring Completed in Fayetteville, NC
Touchstone Electric completed a garage wiring project for Mary Wright in Fayetteville, NC. Our Raleigh branch team, including Joseph Portillo and Francisco Martinez, installed a protected wiring pathway through the garage and extended the circuit wiring toward the crawlspace.
This project involved running PVC conduit in the garage, pulling THHN conductors through the conduit, and transitioning to Romex wiring in the crawlspace. This approach provided a clean, organized route for the new wiring while using materials suited to the conditions of each area.
3/4-Inch PVC Conduit Installation in the Garage
For the garage portion of the installation, our electricians installed approximately 30 feet of 3/4-inch PVC conduit. Conduit helps protect electrical conductors from potential contact, impact, and exposure in areas where wiring may be more accessible than it would be inside finished walls.
The conduit installation included the necessary mounting and connection components, such as connectors and LBs where applicable. Careful routing and secure mounting are important for a professional-looking installation and for maintaining a dependable pathway for circuit conductors.
#12 THHN Wiring Pulled Through Conduit
Once the conduit was in place, the Touchstone Electric team pulled approximately 30 feet of #12 THHN wiring through the PVC conduit. THHN is commonly used inside conduit because its insulated conductors are designed for this type of protected raceway installation.
The #12 conductors were installed for 20-amp circuit wiring. Circuits of this type may serve kitchen appliances, power outlets, and other higher-current electrical needs when properly designed for the equipment and application. The work completed focused on creating a protected garage run before continuing the wiring route into the crawlspace.
Transition From Garage Conduit to Crawlspace Romex
At the appropriate point in the installation, the wiring transitioned from THHN conductors inside the garage conduit to Romex in the crawlspace. Different areas of a home can call for different wiring methods, and this transition allowed the circuit route to continue beyond the garage while matching the conditions of the crawlspace.
