Touchstone Electric’s Raleigh team completed a lighting and ceiling fan installation for homeowner Emma Kitson in Raleigh, NC. On September 5, 2024, our technician Brad Williams upgraded the home’s lighting with a new ceiling fan and two pendant fixtures, and removed three outdated lights. - Code-aligned wiring: Made all terminations with the correct connectors, observed polarity and grounding, and ensured conductor insulation was intact.
- Secure mounting and alignment: Set canopy and bracket hardware to manufacturer torque, trimmed excess chain/rod on pendants for proper drop, and verified strain relief.
- Fan performance: Checked blade clearance, balanced the fan, confirmed quiet operation on all speeds, and verified the correct seasonal direction.
- Function testing: Tested switching for each new fixture, confirmed lamps/LEDs operated as intended, and verified proper dimming where applicable.
- Site cleanliness: Collected old hardware and packaging and left the workspace tidy after removal of the three existing lights.
The result is a safer, more comfortable room with improved airflow from the ceiling fan and focused illumination from the new pendants—installed neatly and done right.
