Touchstone Electric completed an electrical service riser and feeder replacement for a residential home in Charlotte, NC. This Panels & Service Upgrades project, categorized under Meter Base & Service Replacement, was performed by our Charlotte team from the Matthews branch. Lead technician Christian Cedillos finished the work on July 7, 2024, enhancing safety, weather resistance, and long-term reliability for the home’s main electrical service.

By renewing aging service components with properly sized materials, the property is better protected against corrosion, mechanical damage, and voltage drop—key factors in maintaining a stable, code-compliant electrical system.

Scope of work

Service riser replacement: Installed approximately 20 feet of 2-inch PVC conduit with appropriate mounting hardware, connectors, and LBs as applicable to provide a durable, weather-resistant pathway for service conductors.
250-amp feeder upgrade: Pulled approximately 50 feet of THHN 4/0 conductors (3–4 strand) to support a 250A main service, improving capacity and delivering consistent power to the home’s main electrical equipment.
Clean, secure terminations: All connections were made with proper torque and strain relief to help prevent hotspots, loosened conductors, and nuisance interruptions.
Permit note: This scope of work did not require a permit.
