On October 31, 2025, licensed electricians Bradley Blackwelder and Theo Coetsee handled detailed electrical repairs, lighting installation, and low-voltage terminations to bring the project to a clean, code-compliant finish.

This residential project combined troubleshooting with new installations, addressing under-cabinet lighting, switches and a ceiling fan, structured cabling, and an upgrade to the feeder pathway serving the main electrical panel.

Scope of Work Completed

Under-cabinet lighting install and repair: Installed the under-cabinet fixtures and corrected a non-responsive light by properly making up the conductors at the switch box.
Switch and ceiling fan repairs: Diagnosed and resolved issues affecting selected switches and a fan to restore reliable operation.
CAT6/low-voltage terminations: Completed terminations for multiple CAT6 runs, including one jack in the attic and an additional termination at the back-left area of the home. Any slack was neatly coiled and secured in the soffit for a tidy, serviceable finish.
Main panel feeder improvement: Intercepted an existing 1-inch flex conduit run from the rear porch approximately eight feet before the main panel. Installed a properly rated junction box and extended the feeder with new #6 copper conductors to the electrical panel.
Shed power preparation: Ran the planned wiring to serve a new backyard shed location, coordinated with the homeowner’s deck construction timeline and project needs.

All work was performed with attention to safety and workmanship, using secure connections, appropriate enclosures, and clean cable management to support long-term reliability.

How We Solved Key Challenges

Access for high/remote terminations: Completed a hard-to-reach CAT6 termination that required extended ladder access, ensuring the run was properly landed and labeled.
Troubleshooting a dead light: A non-working under-cabinet fixture traced back to the switch box was corrected by reworking the make-up and confirming proper switching.
Feeder extension to the panel: By introducing a junction box at a strategic point in the flex conduit, our team safely extended the conductors to reach the main panel without compromising code or serviceability.
