Electrical Repairs and Conduit Wiring in Greensboro, NC

Touchstone Electric’s Raleigh branch recently completed a clean, reliable electrical repair for a homeowner in Greensboro, NC. Led by our technician Cody Perry, this service on July 8, 2024 focused on safely routing new wiring for 15-amp lighting and general-purpose circuits using durable materials and code-conscious installation practices.

Project overview

To support lighting and general outlets on a 15A circuit, we installed a combination of flexible liquidtight conduit and NM-B cabling. The goal was to protect conductors where exposure and transitions required conduit, then continue with efficient in-wall wiring indoors—delivering a tidy, dependable finish that blends with the home’s existing electrical system.

  • 1/2" Liquidtight/Flex Conduit (10 ft): Sealproof flexible conduit installed with the appropriate mounting, connectors, LBs, and fittings to secure and protect the run.
  • 14/2 NM-B Romex (10 ft): Cable sized for 15-amp lighting and general-purpose circuits, routed cleanly to support fixtures and receptacle locations as needed.
  • Junction box as applicable: Included where required to maintain accessibility and safe splicing. Scope did not include breaker changes or device/fixture installation.

This combination provides a secure transition from protected conduit to indoor cable routing, helping safeguard conductors while keeping the installation neat and serviceable.

What this means for your Greensboro home

  • Durable protection: Liquidtight flex helps shield wiring in exposed or transitional areas, limiting moisture and mechanical stress.
  • Appropriate wiring for 15A circuits: 14/2 NM-B is a standard choice for indoor lighting and general-use branch circuits.
  • Clean, organized finish: Proper connectors, supports, and junctions keep the system accessible and tidy for future service.
  • Code-conscious workmanship: Conductor transitions, terminations, and securement are completed with safety and best practices in mind.

Every detail—from selecting fittings to securing runs—was handled with care so the homeowner can rely on consistent performance from their lighting and outlets.

Scope notes and materials

The installed materials and methods were chosen to match the home’s needs and the environment of the run. Liquidtight flexible conduit is used where added protection is beneficial, while 14/2 NM-B is used for indoor routing to devices on a 15A circuit. Where splices were required, junction boxes were included. This project did not include breaker replacement or the installation of receptacles, switches, or fixtures.
