On March 4, 2025, our Raleigh branch completed a professional Level 2 EV charger installation and 60-amp breaker upgrade for homeowner Zack Kier in Durham, NC. What We Installed
- Electrical permit: Filed the electrical permit with the county and coordinated inspection steps as required.
- Customer-supplied Level 2 EV charger: Installed and connected the unit, including the appropriate receptacle or hardwiring during a single visit.
- Panel upgrade: Added a new 60-amp standard breaker dedicated to the charger.
- Dedicated wiring: Ran approximately 10 feet of #6 SEU (3‑wire) cable to supply the circuit.
The completed system delivers quicker charging, stable power delivery, and a clean, code-conscious installation that’s tailored for everyday use.

Every jurisdiction has its own rules, and this project’s permit covered the electrical scope only. If a property requires additional non-electrical permits—such as Historic Preservation, Environmental/Septic, Zoning, separate Subcontractor, or Builder permits—those are not included. If such permits are needed, we provide guidance on what to file and can offer pricing to process additional non-electrical permits upon request.
