Dedicated Irrigation Circuit and Wiring Repair in Gastonia, NC
Our Charlotte branch, based in Matthews, completed a targeted irrigation power repair for Divine Restoration Group in Gastonia, NC. Led by technician Patrick Burke, the project was finished on June 23, 2025 and focused on restoring safe, reliable power to the home’s irrigation system by correcting corrosion-related failures and installing a new dedicated circuit.
Following completion, the customer praised our team with a review, recognizing the thorough troubleshooting and careful repairs performed on site.
What We Found During Inspection
Upon inspection, the wiring supplying power to the irrigation system showed significant deterioration. Multiple junction points exhibited corrosion that was compromising conductivity, and several exposed segments had degraded insulation. These conditions heightened the risk of short circuits and further corrosion—particularly concerning in moist environments typical for irrigation equipment—making immediate remediation essential for safety and reliability.
Our Repair and Installation Work
To resolve the hazards and deliver dependable irrigation power, we completed the following scope of work:
- New dedicated 20A circuit home run: Installed and supplied a dedicated power feed for the irrigation system using MC 12/2 conductor (124 ft) appropriate for 20-amp circuits. This isolates irrigation loads from other household circuits and helps prevent nuisance interruptions.
- Panel breaker installation: Installed a special breaker matched to the panel and application for proper protection and compatibility, ensuring the new 20A circuit operates safely and as intended.
- Junction box and whip: Added a junction box and whip to serve the irrigation equipment, providing a clean termination point and organized pathway to the system components.
- Wiring remediation: Replaced corroded, compromised conductors and addressed areas where insulation had degraded, eliminating exposed conductors and restoring safe, continuous conductivity.
After installation, we verified continuity, protection, and operation so the irrigation system in Gastonia could run reliably with its own dedicated supply.
Why a Dedicated Circuit Matters for Irrigation
- Safety in moist environments: Fresh, intact insulation and proper terminations reduce shock and short-circuit risks around sprinklers, valves, and pumps.
- Consistent performance: A dedicated 20-amp circuit helps ensure the controller, valves, and any pump equipment receive stable power without competing household loads.
- Reduced maintenance: New conductors and an organized junction point minimize future corrosion issues and make any future service more straightforward.
- Troubleshooting clarity: With a separate circuit and well-defined connections, diagnosing any future issues becomes faster and less disruptive.
