Dedicated Circuit & GFCI Breaker Installation in Raleigh, NC

Touchstone Electric’s Raleigh team completed a code-compliant dedicated circuit installation for Ground Works - Raleigh, providing safe, reliable power for a new appliance. This project was handled by technician Jared Mata and completed on July 21, 2025.

As part of our Panels & Service Upgrades and Circuit Breaker Repair & Replacement services, we installed a new 120V dedicated branch circuit protected by a GFCI breaker, including permitting with the county for full compliance and peace of mind.

Project Scope and What We Installed

New 120V 15/20A dedicated circuit routed to the appliance location
GFCI single-pole breaker installed in the main electrical panel
Standard outlet on the new dedicated branch circuit
Up to 50 feet of service wire for a clean, efficient run
Clear circuit labeling, verification of polarity and grounding, and functional testing

This dedicated circuit helps prevent nuisance trips and ensures the appliance has its own properly sized circuit, supporting both performance and safety.

Panel Capacity Check and Professional Recommendations

Before installation, we reviewed the existing panel for available space and assessed load considerations. If a panel cannot safely accept an additional breaker, our standard process is to provide an estimate for the work required to add capacity or upgrade components so the new circuit can be installed safely and to code.

When a homeowner declines capacity-related work, our technician can perform a limited review of available circuits to discuss possible alternatives at the customer’s direction. Our priority is to present safe, code-aware options and document the best path forward for the home.

Permitting and Code Compliance in Raleigh

We filed an electrical permit with the county for this installation. Pulling the proper permit ensures inspections are completed where required and that the work meets applicable electrical codes.

Permit scope: This permit covered the electrical work only. Other jurisdictional permits—such as Historic Preservation, Environmental/Septic, Zoning, Builders, or separate subcontractor permits—were not included. If additional non-electrical permits are required by the jurisdiction, we provide guidance on which permits are needed and can offer pricing to process those documents upon request.
