Project overview

On August 7, 2024, our Charlotte team based out of our Matthews branch completed a residential dedicated circuit and GFCI breaker installation for Cedar Management Group in Charlotte, NC. Our licensed electricians installed two new 120V dedicated circuits protected by GFCI single‑pole breakers and handled the required county electrical permit from start to finish.

This service aligns with our expertise in Panels & Service Upgrades and Circuit Breaker Repair & Replacement, ensuring dependable power delivery and modern protection where it’s needed most.

What we delivered

  • Filed electrical permit with the county for code-compliant work and inspections.
  • Installed two 15/20 amp, 120V dedicated circuits to serve individual loads without nuisance tripping from shared circuits.
  • Added GFCI single‑pole breakers for premium ground-fault protection at the panel.
  • Ran up to 50 ft of service wire per circuit, neatly routed and secured to current standards.
  • Labeled and tested all new breakers and circuits for proper function and safety.

As part of our quality process, we evaluate panel capacity before adding new breakers. If a panel cannot safely accept additional breakers, we provide clear options and pricing for the work required to proceed.

Why choose dedicated circuits with GFCI protection?

Dedicated circuits ensure a single appliance or device has its own reliable power source, reducing voltage drop, preventing overloads, and helping sensitive equipment perform as intended. Pairing these circuits with GFCI breakers adds life‑saving protection against ground faults right from the panel—ideal for areas where moisture may be present or where enhanced protection is preferred.

  • Improved safety through fast ground‑fault interruption
  • Reduced risk of tripped breakers caused by shared loads
  • Cleaner wiring plans and easier troubleshooting
  • Compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards

Permit handling and important notes

Our office filed the electrical permit required for this project. Please note: every jurisdiction can require different approvals. The permit we process covers electrical scope only. If a separate Historic Preservation, Environmental/Septic, Zoning, Builders, or other non‑electrical permit is required, those are not included. When additional permits are needed, we will let you know which items you can handle and can provide pricing if you would like us to prepare and file those on your behalf.

For this job, we also issued a permit overcharge adjustment to ensure accurate final billing.
