Our Raleigh branch completed a dedicated 20-amp circuit and GFCI outlet installation for Andrew Baird to power a golf cart charger safely and reliably. Completed on August 4, 2025 by technician Brad Williams, this project delivers a clean, code-compliant setup designed specifically for consistent charging without nuisance trips or overloaded circuits.
Located in Raleigh, NC, this Outlets & Switches service focused on adding a new, properly protected receptacle near the home’s electrical panel. The result is a purpose-built solution that supports the higher current draw of a golf cart charger while providing enhanced safety through GFCI protection.
What we installed
- Dedicated 20-amp branch circuit pulled from the service panel exclusively for the golf cart charger.
- 20A GFCI receptacle with cover plate, mounted just beneath the panel for a short, efficient run and easy access.
- NM-B Romex 12/2 wiring (approximately 10 feet), properly routed and secured, with a junction box as needed.
- New 20-amp breakers: one standard and one tandem breaker installed to accommodate panel configuration and the new circuit.
- Circuit testing and labeling to verify correct polarity, grounding, and GFCI functionality.
This configuration ensures the charger has its own pathway back to the panel, minimizing voltage drop and avoiding shared loads that can cause tripping or premature wear on electrical components.
