Project Overview
All wiring for the built-in was already routed to the bookshelf location. Our scope focused on installing LED tape lighting along the shelves for a soft, continuous glow and adding two LED puck lights at the top of the unit for accent and task lighting. The result is a warm, modern showcase effect that highlights books, art, and decor without visible hardware.
Because this was part of a larger renovation, we coordinated the lighting layout and cutout locations with the remodeling team so everything fit perfectly once the cabinetry was in place.
Coordination With the Remodeling Team
Built-ins demand tight coordination to keep wiring concealed and lighting perfectly aligned. For this project, we:
- Confirmed tape light runs to match shelf lengths and spacing.
- Provided layout guidance for the puck light cutouts so the fixtures sit centered and flush.
- Installed and secured the fixtures after the contractor completed the cutouts, delivering a seamless finish with no visible cords.
