Conduit Run and New 20-Amp Circuit Pathways in Raleigh, NC

Our Raleigh electricians completed a clean, exterior conduit run from the attic to the crawlspace for homeowner Tywann Davis, preparing dedicated 20-amp circuit pathways for outlets and kitchen appliances. This Electrical Repairs & Troubleshooting project was completed by our Raleigh branch on July 13, 2026.

The goal was to create a safe, code-conscious route for new circuits without invasive interior demolition, while keeping future connections straightforward for appliances and receptacles.

What We Did

  • Planned an efficient route from the attic down the exterior and into the crawlspace to serve multiple future 20-amp circuits.
  • Installed 3/4-inch PVC conduit outdoors with appropriate supports, connectors, and LB fittings for serviceable pulls and turns.
  • Pulled THHN #12 conductors (multi-conductor configuration as required) for dedicated 20-amp circuits that can supply kitchen appliances, power outlets, and other higher-load devices.
  • Secured and weather-sealed entry and exit points to help protect wiring from moisture and pests.
  • Labeled pathway endpoints so future device and panel terminations are clear and organized.

Note: This scope established the conduit pathway and conductors; final breaker installation and device terminations were not included in this visit.

Materials and Labor Included

  • THHN #12 Conductors (approx. 30 ft): Sized appropriately for 20-amp circuits and pulled to support dedicated appliance and outlet loads.
  • 3/4-inch PVC Conduit (approx. 30 ft): Includes mounting hardware, connectors, and LB bodies as applicable for a durable, serviceable exterior run.
  • Electrical Assistant (apprentice): Provided additional hands for safe ladder work, pulling conductors, and maintaining jobsite efficiency.
  • Convenience Fee: A pass-through fee applied when customers choose to pay by credit card to cover processor charges.

Why Dedicated 20-Amp Circuits Matter

Many modern appliances and workshops require more available current than a standard 15-amp receptacle can comfortably provide. Dedicated 20-amp circuits help reduce nuisance tripping, improve performance for high-demand devices, and align with common kitchen and utility room needs.

By establishing a proper conduit pathway and pulling the right-size conductors now, future device connections and panel tie-ins are faster, cleaner, and easier to inspect.

Safety and Code-Focused Work

Our Raleigh team followed best practices for outdoor PVC conduit runs, including proper support intervals, gentle bend radii for easier future pulls, and fittings suitable for exterior exposure. Final device connections and overcurrent protection (breakers) must be selected and installed to meet the National Electrical Code and local Raleigh requirements. When the customer is ready, we can complete those final steps and confirm any required AFCI/GFCI protection at the appropriate locations.
