Closet Lighting Installation & TV Outlet Wiring in Raleigh, NC
Completion date: March 26, 2025
Serviced by: Brad Williams, Raleigh Branch
Our Raleigh team helped homeowner Andy Bilodeau 2 brighten storage spaces and clean up TV power in the master bedroom. This Lighting & Ceiling Fans project focused on clean, code-compliant lighting installation and an in-wall outlet for a wall-mounted television, delivering safer operation and a polished look.
Scope of work
- Foyer closet lighting: Installed a wafer can light for low-profile, even illumination in a tight ceiling area.
- Master closet lighting: Mounted and wired the customer-supplied closet light on the existing circuit.
- In-wall TV outlet: Added a new standard receptacle behind the wall-mounted TV, tying into the existing outlet below for a neat, cable-free appearance.
- Wiring and routing: Ran approximately 5 feet of 14/2 NM-B Romex on the appropriate 15-amp branch and carefully fished wire through finished walls to minimize disturbance.
- Finishing and verification: Installed the outlet with cover, secured all connections, and tested for correct operation, grounding, and polarity.
This Lighting Installation was completed with attention to safety and detail, meeting current electrical standards and maintaining the home’s aesthetic.
How we approached the installation
For the foyer closet, a wafer can light was the ideal solution. Its slim profile allows for installation in narrow cavities while providing long-lasting, uniform light. In the master closet, we installed the customer’s fixture on the existing box and circuit, verifying the box support and connections before final mounting.
For the TV area, we added a new in-wall receptacle behind the display and tied into the existing receptacle below. Our technician carefully fished the cable to limit drywall impact, then completed terminations, installed the cover plate, and confirmed proper function with device testing.
Results for this Raleigh home
- Both closets now have bright, reliable lighting for quick visibility and safer storage.
- The master bedroom TV has hidden power with a finished in-wall outlet for a clean, professional appearance.
- The work was performed cleanly, with careful fishing of wire and tidy finish plates.
- All devices were tested and installed to code for dependable, everyday use.
Following completion, Andy Bilodeau 2 praised our Raleigh team with a positive review of the experience.
