Lighting and Ceiling Fan Installation in Charlotte, NC
Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team completed a full lighting and ceiling fan installation for a new home addition in Charlotte, NC on July 25, 2025. Led by technician Danny Bishop out of our Matthews branch, we wired the addition to current NEC code and followed the stamped electrical plans and homeowner preferences. The work was coordinated with the builder, who added us to the project permit, ensuring a smooth and compliant installation from rough-in through trim-out.
What We Installed
Our Lighting & Ceiling Fans crew delivered a turnkey solution that blends comfort, efficiency, and safety. Scope included:
- Wiring for (3) fan/light combo units for year-round comfort
- Wiring and installation of (6) six-inch LED recessed cans with a convenient night-light feature
- Wiring and installation of (2) four-inch recessed cans in the master closet
- Wiring and installation of (3) motion-activated floodlights for perimeter security
- Wiring a dedicated 20A exterior outlet for landscape lighting
- Furnishing and installing (2) additional six-inch recessed cans in the hallway
- Furnishing and installing a new fan/light combo in the existing bathroom
- Furnishing and installing a new dimmer in the family room for adjustable ambiance
This combination enhances everyday comfort, elevates curb appeal, and gives the homeowner flexible lighting control throughout the new spaces.
Code-Compliant Wiring for a New Addition
Our team performed a complete new-construction rough-in and trim-out. During rough-in, we:
- Landed and dressed all electrical boxes cleanly
- Supplied power for bathroom vent fans (ducting by others)
- Completed wiring for the HVAC system
- Provided 20A GFCI bathroom circuits per current code
- Wired outlets, lights, and switches in line with plans or NEC requirements
After rough inspection, we completed the trim-out, including:
- Installing and supplying smoke detectors
- Connecting vent fans (ducting by others)
- Installing disconnects for HVAC and major appliances as needed
- Hooking up customer-supplied appliances per the plans
- Setting all fixtures to match the homeowner’s layout and selections
