Charlotte Lighting Installation & Garage Subpanel Upgrade

Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team, based out of our Matthews branch, partnered with Boon & Company Construction to complete a full lighting and power upgrade at a residential project in Charlotte, NC. Led by Danny Bishop, this project wrapped on December 31, 2024 and delivered brighter, safer, and code-compliant electrical service throughout a newly finished room, laundry area, and detached/remote garage space.

From rough-in to final trim, our crew focused on clean installation, energy-efficient fixtures, and a well-organized electrical layout that supports the homeowner’s current needs and future expansion.

Scope of Work

New room and laundry wiring: Complete rough-in per current NEC requirements, with final device installation and testing.
Recessed lighting: Furnished and installed 10 can lights across the play room and laundry hall for even, glare-free illumination.
Under-cabinet lighting: Installed 2 low-profile fixtures in the laundry room to improve task lighting and visibility.
Garage lighting: Added 6 four-foot LED wrap fixtures for bright, efficient workspace lighting.
Soffit lighting: Installed 5 six-inch can lights at the garage soffit on a single-pole switch for nighttime visibility and curb appeal.
Switches and outlets: Added 2 single-pole switches for can lights in the pantry and office, plus 2 new standard outlets in the office.
Power distribution: Furnished and installed a 50A garage subpanel and relocated an existing subpanel ~4 feet to optimize layout and accessibility.
Trenching coordination: The builder handled trenching to the garage; our team coordinated conduit and terminations to ensure a safe, compliant install.
