Reliable 200A Panel Upgrade and Subpanel Installation in Charlotte, NC
Our Charlotte team completed a comprehensive service upgrade for homeowner Alex Dean, delivering safe, code-ready power for today’s household demands. Led by technician Grady Houston, this project included a new 200A meter/panel combo, a properly sized outdoor subpanel, targeted breaker upgrades, and refreshed devices to prepare the home for inspection and long-term reliability.

Scope of Work
To bring the service up to modern standards and enhance safety, our crew installed and adjusted the following components:
- 200A Meter/Panel Combo: Coordinated permit approvals and the utility power drop; installed new meter/panel combo with ground rods and grounding electrode conductors.
- Outdoor Midsized Subpanel (12/24, up to 125A): Added capacity for present and future circuits.
- Main and Branch Breakers: 100A 2-pole feeder for the subpanel; 50A standard for heavy loads (range, heater/furnace, small subpanel, or EV-ready capacity); 30A 2-pole for dedicated equipment; 20A GFCI breaker for required areas; 20A standard; and four 15A standard breakers for general lighting and branch circuits.
- Device Upgrades: Kitchen standard receptacle; GFCI receptacle where required; weatherproof bubble cover for an exterior outlet; replacement of the back-door light switch.
- Custom Electrical Task: Relocated wiring and installed a junction box for the garage light to clean up the layout and support safe maintenance.
- Appliance Hookup: Connected a customer-supplied major appliance with either a proper receptacle or hard-wired termination as appropriate.
- Crawl Space Tune-Up: Sealed penetrations and the panel area in the crawl space to help minimize moisture and pest intrusion and support electrical system longevity.
