Bathroom Vanity Lighting & GFCI Outlet Installation in Arden, NC

Our Asheville team, dispatched from our Hendersonville location, completed a clean, code-compliant bathroom lighting and outlet upgrade for Re-Bath Charlotte in Arden, NC. The project modernized the mirror area with balanced vanity lighting, added convenient power where it was needed, and improved overall electrical safety with updated protection at the panel.

Project Overview

To achieve even illumination at the vanity, we split the switch leg behind the mirror and installed two customer-supplied fixtures on either side. Our electricians also replaced several devices, added a new GFCI outlet for water-area protection, and fished a new standard receptacle to the right side of the mirror for everyday convenience. To elevate safety across the circuit, we installed a 20-amp AFCI breaker and verified proper operation after the upgrades.

Scope of Work Completed

Vanity lighting: Split the existing switch leg and installed two customer-supplied light fixtures flanking the mirror for glare-free, symmetrical illumination.
New outlets: Installed one GFCI receptacle (with cover) for bathroom safety and one standard receptacle to the right of the mirror, both neatly integrated with existing finishes.
Switch replacements: Replaced three standard switches for reliable control of the new and existing lighting.
Fishing wire: Professionally fished approximately 15 feet of cable through finished walls to minimize patching while placing power exactly where it’s needed.
New wiring: Installed approximately 25 feet of 12/2 NM-B cable to serve the updated devices and fixtures.
Panel upgrade: Installed a 20-amp AFCI breaker to add arc-fault protection on the circuit.
Permitting: Filed the electrical permit with the county and completed the work to current electrical code standards.

GFCI protection: Bathrooms require ground-fault protection where outlets are near water. The new GFCI outlet helps reduce shock risk and supports modern safety expectations for a bathroom remodel.

AFCI protection: Arc-fault circuit interrupter breakers help detect potentially hazardous arcing conditions in wiring and connected devices.
