Bathroom Rewire, New Circuit, Lighting and GFCI in Statesville, NC

Our Charlotte branch, based out of Matthews, completed a full bathroom electrical remodel for Re-Bath Charlotte in Statesville. On February 16, 2026, technician Danny Bishop rewired the space to support new lighting, ventilation, and code-required receptacle protection—delivering a clean, modern finish with black devices to match the design.

Project Highlights

  • Dedicated 20A bathroom circuit for receptacles to support grooming appliances and reduce nuisance tripping.
  • GFCI protection at the sink area for enhanced shock protection.
  • Extra receptacle added near the wall where the switches are located for convenient access.
  • Lighting installation: wiring for a new vanity light and a 6-inch shower-rated wafer can light for bright, focused illumination.
  • Exhaust fan installation: removed the old housing, adjusted ducting, and connected the new fan to power for reliable moisture control.
  • Black outlets and switches throughout the bathroom to complement the remodel’s aesthetic.
  • 15A AFCI breaker added for the lighting circuit to enhance fire-prevention measures.

Materials and Methods

  • 50 ft of 12/2 NM-B for the 20A bathroom receptacle circuit.
  • 100 ft of 14/2 NM-B for the bathroom lighting and control runs.
  • Shower-rated 6” wafer can light for low-profile, efficient, and damp-location-appropriate lighting.
  • Customer-supplied vanity light and bath fan professionally installed and tied into the new/updated wiring.
  • Two new switches and a combination of GFCI and standard receptacles, all in a coordinated black finish.

We coordinated our visits with the remodel timeline to ensure smooth progress and minimal disruption, returning as needed as the project advanced through each phase.

Code, Safety and Comfort

This bathroom update emphasizes safety and day-to-day usability. The dedicated 20A circuit and GFCI protection provide safer power where it’s needed most. An AFCI-protected lighting circuit adds another layer of protection behind the walls. Bright, efficient LED lighting at the vanity and in the shower improves visibility, while the upgraded exhaust fan helps control humidity and protect finishes.

Permit Handling

Touchstone Electric filed the electrical permit with the county for this project. Please note: permitting requirements vary by jurisdiction. The permit we provide covers the electrical scope only. If your project requires Historic Preservation, Environmental/Septic, Zoning, Builder, or other non-electrical permits, they are not included. If additional permits are needed, we will advise you on which permits you may need to handle and can provide pricing to process any non-electrical permits upon request.
