Bathroom Lighting, Exhaust Fan & GFCI Installation in Asheville
On August 4, 2026, our Asheville team completed a bathroom refresh for Re-Bath Charlotte in Asheville. Technicians Aaron Smith, Alec Saikal, and Frank Fragale handled the project from start to finish, delivering clean, code-focused work that improves lighting, ventilation, and electrical safety.
Touchstone Electric services Asheville and the surrounding area through our Asheville team with support from our Hendersonville branch, providing reliable lighting installation and ventilation upgrades for homeowners and local businesses.
Project Scope
- Shower wafer can light installed on the same switch leg as the new replacement fan can.
- New vanity sconce installed above the mirror in the existing location.
- Bathroom exhaust fan replacement (customer-supplied unit): removed old housing, made drywall cutouts as needed, reworked duct alignment, and tied into the existing power source.
- GFCI outlet installation to bring the bathroom’s receptacle protection up to current code standards.
- Switch installation for lighting/fixture control on the existing circuit.
- Targeted wiring with NM-B 14/2 for the lighting run and connections, including any required junction box per code.
- Grounding system upgrade: drove a new ground rod and installed a continuous #6 GEC (grounding electrode conductor) to the main service panel (up to 25 ft).
- Electrical permit filed with the county for compliant installation and inspection.
How This Upgrade Helps
- Brighter, targeted lighting: A low-profile wafer can in the shower and a clean, centered sconce at the mirror improve visibility for daily routines.
- Quieter, more effective ventilation: The new fan helps move humidity out of the bathroom to protect finishes and reduce moisture-related issues.
- Modern safety with GFCI protection: The added GFCI outlet delivers shock protection at the point of use, bringing the bathroom in line with today’s electrical safety standards.
- Improved system grounding: A new ground rod and continuous #6 GEC enhance fault-clearing paths and overall electrical system reliability.
Our team coordinated everything in one visit—careful fixture placement, ductwork rework for the fan, and neat wiring using NM-B 14/2 on the existing 15-amp lighting circuit. We also handled permitting to keep the process streamlined and compliant.
