Project overview

Touchstone Electric completed a bathroom electrical upgrade for Re-Bath Charlotte in Piedmont, SC. This Lighting & Ceiling Fans project, categorized under Lighting Installation, delivered brighter, safer, and more comfortable bathroom use with a new exhaust fan can light, an ultra-thin wafer LED can, a GFCI outlet, updated switches, and fresh NM-B wiring. The work was performed by technician Tyler Harris and finalized on April 16, 2026 by our Greenville team based out of our Taylors location.

What we installed

  • Exhaust Fan Can Light: We installed a combination exhaust fan and recessed can light to provide both ventilation and overhead illumination. Per the scope, this included the electrical install for the fan/light assembly. Any ducting or new circuit work was not included.
  • Wafer LED Can Light: A low-profile, long‑lasting wafer-style LED can was added—ideal for tight or shallow ceiling spaces—delivering even, modern lighting without bulky housings.
  • GFCI Bathroom Receptacle: A Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter outlet with a new cover plate was installed for enhanced shock protection in the bathroom’s damp environment.
  • Three Standard Switches: We installed or replaced standard switches to control the new lighting and fan fixtures, improving day-to-day convenience.
  • NM-B 14/2 Wiring (approx. 50 ft): New 14/2 NM-B cable was run as needed to serve the added devices, with any required junction box included in the scope. No new breaker or dedicated circuit was included.

Code-focused, bathroom-safe upgrades

Bathrooms demand careful attention to safety and code. Our licensed electricians install GFCI protection where required and use appropriate wiring methods—like 14/2 NM-B for 15‑amp lighting and general-purpose branch circuits—helping ensure reliable performance. The exhaust fan can light adds effective humidity control to reduce moisture buildup, while the wafer LED can improves visibility with efficient, low-heat lighting.

Every device was mounted securely and wired with proper terminations. The result is a bathroom that feels brighter, vents more effectively, and provides a safer place to plug in grooming appliances and small electrics.

Benefits for this Piedmont bathroom

  • Better ventilation: The fan component helps clear humidity to protect finishes and improve comfort.
  • Modern, efficient lighting: The wafer LED can light delivers clean, even illumination in low-clearance spaces.
  • Added safety with GFCI: Ground-fault protection reduces shock risk in wet areas.
  • Improved control: Updated switching provides straightforward, dependable operation of new fixtures.
  • Clean, professional finish: New covers and trim integrate seamlessly with the bathroom’s design.
