What we installed and upgraded
- New lighting circuit (14/2 NM-B): We ran a home run from the exterior panel to supply bathroom lighting on a properly sized 15-amp circuit.
- 6-inch canless wafer can light: Low-profile LED wafer fixture installed in the ceiling for bright, even illumination without needing deep housing.
- Vanity light installation: Installed the customer-supplied vanity fixture to illuminate the sink area.
- Double-gang switching: Converted an existing single-gang box to a double-gang with two standard switches—one for the new ceiling light and one for the vanity light.
- Dedicated bathroom receptacle circuit (12/2 NM-B): Pulled a separate 20-amp home run specifically for bathroom receptacles, per modern code best practices.
- GFCI outlet: Installed a ground-fault circuit interrupter to protect against shock in the damp environment.
- Panel upgrades: Added a 15-amp breaker for lighting and a 20-amp breaker for the dedicated receptacle circuit.
- Electrical permit: Secured and filed the electrical permit for this scope of work.
Before our visit, the bathroom relied on aging cloth wire and a pull-chain vanity light, with no receptacle available. The new circuits, fixtures, and controls provide safer operation, better lighting, and convenient code-compliant power access.
