Project overview
Our Asheville business unit, serving Flat Rock from our Hendersonville branch, completed a bathroom ventilation and lighting upgrade for a home in Flat Rock, NC on May 1, 2026. Technician Frank Fragale handled the work for Re-Bath Charlotte as part of a remodel. This Lighting & Ceiling Fans project focused on safe, code-conscious lighting installation and improved comfort with fan/light/heater combinations.

What we upgraded
- Vanity lighting replacements: Swapped existing over-vanity fixtures in both bathrooms with customer-supplied lights. All fixtures were installed on properly supported boxes with secure terminations.
- Master bathroom fan/light/heater: Replaced the existing fan/light with a new combination unit to add targeted warmth and better ventilation.
- Second bathroom fan/light/heater: Upgraded the standard fan to a fan/light/heater combo to mirror the master bath improvements.
- Dedicated power for new loads: Pulled new circuits from the electrical panel to safely supply the heater functions and the upgraded ventilation as required by load calculations.
- New switching: Added an additional switch leg for the heater function in the master bath. Converted the master’s two-gang box to a three-gang and upgraded the second bath from a single-gang to a three-gang to provide separate control of fan, light, and heater.
Clean wiring and modern protection
To support the new circuits, our team installed approximately 100 feet of 12/3 NM-B cable with proper stapling, routing, and junction practices. We also installed two 20A AFCI breakers to provide modern arc-fault protection for the newly added bathroom circuits.
Arc-fault protection helps reduce the risk of fire from damaged or compromised wiring. It’s important to note that AFCI breakers can expose preexisting wiring conditions—such as shared neutrals or hidden faults—that may cause nuisance tripping. If a legacy wiring issue is discovered, added diagnostic and correction work can be necessary to bring the affected circuit into compliance.
Switching and user-friendly controls
With three independent controls in each bathroom—fan, light, and heater—the homeowner can tailor comfort and ventilation on demand. We installed three new standard switches and ensured that each control is clearly separated, properly labeled, and wired with dedicated switch legs for reliable, intuitive operation.
