Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte branch completed a safe, code-compliant power upgrade for United PrintPatrick Burke installed a 60A, 240V circuit and added new 110V outlet circuits to support everyday equipment and future needs. The build-out included EMT conduit, new breakers, and standard receptacles to deliver reliable power for appliances and shop tools.
This project falls under our Outlets & Switches services, with a focus on Outlet Installation & Repair. Our Matthews-based team serves the greater Charlotte, NC area and completes each installation to meet current electrical code requirements and best practices.
Scope of work
We followed the customer’s scope-of-work diagram and installed dedicated circuits and new outlets with durable, professional-grade materials designed for long service life.
- Dedicated 60A, 240V circuit: Installed and supplied a high-capacity circuit suitable for larger appliances and production equipment. We used approximately 80 ft of THHN #6 conductors and provided the required overcurrent protection with new 60A breakers.
- EMT conduit installation: Ran about 50 ft of 3/4-inch EMT with connectors, LBs, and secure mounting hardware for a clean, protected path that simplifies future maintenance.
- New 110V circuits: Added multiple 110V branch circuits using approximately 200 ft of THHN #12 conductors on 20A breakers to support general-purpose power needs.
- Standard receptacles: Installed four standard outlets with covers to provide convenient, code-compliant access to power where needed.
- Cords and fittings: Supplied 6/4 SO and 12/3 SO cords and cord grips for secure strain relief and safe equipment connections.
- Coordination and efficiency: Moved equipment as necessary to complete the work safely and brought in an additional electrician to keep the schedule on track.
Quality, safety, and compliance
Every connection was torqued to specification, and conductors were sized appropriately for the loads. EMT provides mechanical protection and a professional finish, while panel labeling and clear routing support easy serviceability. The new circuits and outlets were installed to meet the NEC and local Charlotte requirements, with grounding, bonding, and GFCI/AFCI protection applied where required by code.
The result is a reliable, organized power distribution setup that helps reduce nuisance trips, supports steady equipment operation, and makes it simpler to add or adjust loads in the future.
