200A Outdoor Panel Upgrade in Kannapolis, NC
On April 3, 2026, Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team from our Matthews branch completed a comprehensive main service upgrade for homeowner Chris Everetts in Kannapolis, NC. Led by technician Chris Rogers, the project centered on replacing an aging outdoor main panel with a new 200-amp aluminum panel, modernizing the grounding system, installing appropriately sized breakers, and adding whole-home surge protection.

The panel installation is backed by a 20-year transferable warranty on the panel (compared to the 50-year warranty available with our copper panel installation option). Note: the base panel scope does not include breakers, a service disconnect, feeder, or meter upgrade unless specified; for this project, the listed breakers were supplied and installed as separate line items.
Code and Safety Considerations
As local inspectors continue implementing NEC 2020, certain branch circuits may require AFCI protection. In some homes, adding AFCI breakers can immediately reveal preexisting electrical conditions—such as shared neutrals—that cause nuisance tripping.
