Project Overview

For this Charlotte, NC residence, our team replaced the outdated service components and delivered a clean, durable, and NEC-aligned installation. The work focused on upgrading the service entrance equipment so the utility could safely attach and energize the home’s electrical service at the weatherhead, while also improving the grounding system for better safety and performance.

New 200A meter base: Upgraded to a modern meter enclosure suitable for the home’s service capacity.
Service riser and weatherhead: Replaced the old riser with a new weatherhead to provide a proper utility attachment point and weather-resistant entry.
PVC conduit (2-inch): Approximately 12 feet of PVC conduit with the necessary fittings and supports for a neat, secure run.
Service conductors: Approximately 35 feet of 4/0 THHN conductors, installed as part of the service run to complete the connection through the meter and up to the drip loop area.
Grounding system: Installed ground rods with grounding electrode conductors, bonding as required to enhance system safety and fault clearance.
Service entrance cable to drip loop: Routed and terminated to provide a clean, reliable connection at the weatherhead.
