200A Meter Base and Panel Service Upgrade in Granite Falls
Touchstone Electric completed a 200-amp electrical service upgrade for Katy Fairley in Granite Falls, NC. Our Charlotte branch team, including Ash Ashirin and Tyquan Johnson, replaced the existing service equipment with a new 200A copper feed-through meter and panel combination designed to support the home’s electrical needs with updated service components.

- New riser conduit and weatherhead for the overhead electrical service

- Approximately 15 feet of 4/0, four-wire service entrance cable

- Installation of bare #6 grounding wire for grounding and bonding connections

Grounding, Bonding, and Service Equipment Details
A service upgrade involves more than replacing a panel. Proper grounding and bonding are essential parts of the electrical system, helping create a path for fault current and connecting key service components as required for the installation. For this project, our electricians installed a new ground rod and continuous grounding electrode conductor running to the main service equipment.
The new riser and weatherhead also provide the pathway for the overhead utility service conductors to enter the upgraded meter equipment.
