Touchstone Electric completed a comprehensive 200-amp meter and main panel upgrade for homeowner Vivian Wilson in Wilmington, NC. The project was delivered by our Wilmington team and serviced by technician Christian Cedillos, with final completion on September 17, 2025. Breakers Added or Replaced
- 2 × 30A Standard (Double-Pole) — supports loads such as a dryer, water heater, air condenser, spa, or EV charger.
- 1 × 100A (2-Pole) — dedicated feed for a subpanel.
- 1 × 60A Standard — suitable for a range, heater/furnace, small subpanel, or EV charging.
- 1 × 40A Standard — commonly used for a dryer, water heater, air condenser, spa, or EV charging.
- 1 × 20A Standard — for small appliance circuits.
Please note: In a typical 200A meter/panel combo scope, items like a riser/weatherhead, service-entrance cable to the weatherhead, and feeders/conduit to main panels are not included by default. For this Wilmington upgrade, we also installed select breakers to match the home’s loads.
Code-Ready and Inspector-Friendly
Local inspectors are increasingly enforcing NEC 2020 requirements. As part of that, some circuits may need AFCI protection. It’s important to know:
- Installing AFCI breakers can reveal preexisting issues (such as shared neutrals) that may cause immediate tripping.
