200A Main Breaker Panel Upgrade in Winston Salem, NC
Touchstone Electric completed a 200 amp main breaker electrical panel upgrade for homeowner Darrell Mills in Winston Salem, NC on August 18, 2026. Our Charlotte branch (Matthews) dispatched technicians Tyquan Johnson and Danny Bishop to replace an aging ITE panel and bring the home’s electrical system up to current code.

Scope of Work Performed
- Removed the outdated ITE panel and installed a new 200A indoor main breaker panel with aluminum bus.
- Replaced the panel assembly and main lugs; labeled all circuits for clear identification.
- Grounded and bonded the new panel to meet current electrical code.
- Reconnected the service entrance cable and tied in existing branch circuits.
- Installed whole-home surge protection (includes a $10k connected equipment warranty).
- Made the sheetrock cuts necessary to complete the panel change safely and cleanly.
- Coordinated a safe utility outage for the changeover; limited temporary power via generator is available when required during panel replacements.
The installed panel includes a 20-year transferable panel warranty, providing added peace of mind for the homeowner and future buyers.

Permitting, Inspection, and Code Compliance
Touchstone Electric obtained the required electrical permit for this Winston Salem panel upgrade and coordinated the final inspection with the local authority.
