Touchstone Electric’s Raleigh team completed a permitted and inspected 200-amp main electrical panel upgrade and whole-home surge protection for homeowner Walter Morris in Southern Pines, NC. What We Installed
The new indoor main panel was fully brought to current electrical code. Our licensed electrician:
- Replaced the main panel, main lugs, and labeling for clear circuit identification.
- Grounded and bonded the panel, and reconnected the service entrance conductors.
- Reconnected and organized branch circuits for safer, cleaner operation.
- Installed a whole-house surge protective device at the main panel to divert excess voltage safely to ground, helping protect wiring, appliances, and sensitive electronics from lightning-related events and utility fluctuations.
- Added EMT conduit (3/4") as needed for a neat, code-compliant installation.
To complete the upgrade, we installed new standard breakers where specified for reliable distribution:
- 1 × 40A double-pole breaker
- 3 × 30A double-pole breakers
- 1 × 20A double-pole breaker
- 6 × 20A single-pole breakers
- 18 × 15A single-pole breakers
