200A Electrical Panel Upgrade for a Charlotte Property
Touchstone Electric completed a comprehensive electrical upgrade for Archrysalis Architecture + Construction in Charlotte, including the installation of a new 200-amp main breaker panel, updated breakers, and an outdoor subpanel. This project was designed to improve electrical capacity, organize circuit distribution, and support new lighting, heating, fan, and outlet needs throughout the property.
A modern electrical panel is essential when a home or renovation requires additional dedicated circuits, larger electrical loads, or expanded outdoor electrical equipment. Our Charlotte electrical team replaced the existing main panel and carefully reconnected the existing circuits while providing updated breaker protection and clear panel labeling.
Outdoor Subpanel and Dedicated Circuit Installation
In addition to the new main panel, our electricians installed a midsized outdoor subpanel with a feeder connection to help distribute power where it was needed. The work included EMT conduit and properly sized wiring to support the new electrical equipment and branch circuits.
We also added several new 20-amp dedicated circuits, including a dedicated circuit for the garage. Dedicated circuits help provide a reliable power source for equipment and devices that should not share capacity with general lighting or receptacle circuits. New 20-amp control switches were installed to serve the applicable equipment and controls.

Outdoor Lighting, Fans, Heaters, and GFCI Protection
This Charlotte electrical project also included extensive fixture and outdoor power work. Our team installed customer-supplied flood lights, outdoor can lights, heaters, and fans. We traced the existing circuit for the flood lights to identify the proper connection path before completing the installation.
To improve the layout of the outdoor area, two outside fans were moved to the center of the lighting arrangement. Indoor and outdoor switching was configured for three-way operation where needed, helping make lighting and equipment easier to control from more than one location.
For safer outdoor power access, Touchstone Electric supplied and installed three GFCI outlets along with weather-resistant bubble covers. GFCI receptacles are an important protective feature for exterior areas where moisture exposure may be present.
