200A Electrical Panel Upgrade and Breaker Replacement in Maiden, NC
Our Charlotte branch completed a comprehensive main panel replacement and breaker upgrade for homeowner Josh Bauer in Maiden, NC. Led by technician Patrick Burke, this project was finished on July 8, 2025 and brought the home’s electrical system up to current code with a safer, higher-capacity copper panel and new protective devices.
Project Overview
We replaced the indoor main panel with a 200A copper panel, reconnected existing circuits, and performed full grounding and bonding to ensure code compliance and reliable fault protection. The work included coordinated permitting and inspection. During the planned outage, a temporary generator was made available for limited essential power.

Built for Safety, Capacity, and Code Compliance
A 200A copper panel provides robust capacity for today’s loads and future upgrades like EV chargers, HVAC, and modern kitchens. Copper bus architecture offers excellent conductivity and heat resistance for long-term reliability. Our team also ensured proper bonding and grounding to help clear faults quickly and reduce shock hazards.
As authorities adopt the 2020 NEC, inspectors may require AFCI protection on certain circuits. In some homes, preexisting conditions such as shared neutrals can cause nuisance tripping and may require additional diagnostic work to resolve. We walk homeowners through these options to keep installations safe and compliant.
