Touchstone Electric completed a comprehensive electrical panel upgrade for a home in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our Charlotte team replaced the existing indoor panel with a new 200-amp aluminum main panel, helping bring the home’s electrical distribution system up to current code requirements while improving organization, capacity, and overall electrical safety.

Panel Replacement, Grounding, and Surge Protection
During this Charlotte electrical panel upgrade, our technicians removed and replaced the main panel, labeled the new panel, grounded and bonded the equipment, reconnected the service entrance cable, and reconnected the home’s existing circuits. The installation also included whole-panel surge protection to help protect connected electrical equipment from power surges.

Outlet, Weatherproof Cover, Wiring, and Fixture Updates
The completed work also included several electrical updates beyond the panel. Our team installed a standard receptacle, a GFCI receptacle, and a weatherproof bubble cover. GFCI protection is especially important in locations where moisture may be present, while a bubble cover helps protect an outdoor outlet whether it is in use or not.
To support the electrical improvements, Touchstone installed 30 feet of 12/2 NM-B Romex wiring for a 20-amp circuit application. We also installed four customer-supplied simple fixtures on existing boxes and circuits. These updates helped complete the home’s electrical improvements alongside the new panel and breaker installation.
