To align with current NEC requirements adopted in our region, we installed AFCI breakers for living spaces and receptacle circuits and GFCI breakers for bathrooms, laundry, garage, exterior, and other damp areas. These devices help reduce the risks associated with arc faults and ground faults.
Note: When bringing older homes up to today’s code, newly installed AFCI protection can sometimes trip immediately due to preexisting conditions such as shared neutrals. If that occurs, additional diagnostics may be needed to locate and correct the underlying wiring issue.
