Our Raleigh branch completed a comprehensive 200 amp service upgrade and panel installation for Re-Bath Greensboro in Reidsville, NC. Led by technician Brad Williams, this project brought the home’s electrical system up to modern safety and capacity standards on October 7, 2024. The new meter/panel combo features an aluminum busbar with a 20-year transferable warranty to deliver reliable, long-term performance.
This job falls under our Panels & Service Upgrades and Electrical Panel Upgrades services and included permitting, utility coordination, and a host of safety improvements for a smooth and code-compliant upgrade.
Scope of work completed
- Meter/Panel Combo – 200 amp: Installed new meter/panel combo, labeled the panel, coordinated the power drop with the utility, pulled permits, ran conduit to the weatherhead, installed service entrance cable to the drip loop, and set new grounding electrode conductors with ground rods. Included a surge protector with a $25k warranty. (Generator available for limited power during outage upon request.)
- Temporary power pole: Provided a safe, temporary power solution as the homeowner was moving in before permanent power was restored.
- Service upgrades: Added service wire from the meter to the new panel and installed a new service riser.
- Additional circuits and breakers:
- 1× 30 amp double‑pole breaker (furnace)
- 7× 20 amp standard breakers for small appliance circuits
- 2× 15 amp standard breakers for lighting and standard branch circuits
- Dedicated breakers/wiring for washer and dryer, plus breakers for lighting
- Outlet and protection upgrades: Installed 3× GFCI outlets (kitchen and bathroom areas) and 6× standard outlets to improve safety and convenience across the home.
- Appliance and laundry updates: Connected a customer-supplied major appliance and relocated the washer/dryer with appropriate wiring and protection.
- Ventilation improvement: Installed a new bathroom exhaust fan, removed the old housing, reworked ducting, and tied into the existing power source.
- Grounding system update: Upgraded the electrical shock diversion system with new ground rods to enhance overall system safety.

- Meters/panel combo with aluminum busbar (20-year transferable warranty)
- NM‑B Romex 10/3 (30 ft) for 240V, 30A appliances
- NM‑B Romex 12/2 (120 ft) for 20A circuits and kitchen/small appliances
- NM‑B Romex 14/2 (50 ft) for general lighting circuits
- SER 4‑wire cable (10 ft) for meter‑to‑panel or main‑to‑subpanel feed as required
- PVC conduit 2" (20 ft), fittings, LBs, and connectors
These components were selected to match the load requirements of a modern home, provide appropriate fault protection, and support clear labeling and serviceability of the new panel.

With GFCI protection added in the kitchen and bathrooms, a refreshed grounding system, properly sized breakers, and an upgraded exhaust fan, this Reidsville home now benefits from safer, more dependable power.
