Project overview in Concord, NC
On June 16, 2025, our Charlotte branch team based in Matthews completed a comprehensive service upgrade and kitchen rewire for MUSE Residential in Concord, NC. Led by technician Danny Bishop, this project combined a new 200 amp main breaker feed-through exterior panel with a full kitchen lighting and power plan, aligning with our Panels & Service Upgrades and Electrical Panel Upgrades specialties.
The scope included modern LED lighting, code-compliant appliance circuits, and thoughtful controls that improve safety, capacity, and everyday convenience for the home.
What we installed
- 200A main breaker feed-through exterior panel: Furnished and installed to deliver higher capacity and streamlined distribution, setting the home up for current needs and future growth.
- Kitchen and dining room lighting: Six total 6-inch wafer can lights with selectable settings (four in the kitchen, one over the sink, and one in the dining room to replace a hanging fixture) for clean, even illumination in low-profile spaces.
- Island pendant: Wired for a customer-selected pendant over the island to create a focal point and task light where it’s most needed.
- Under-cabinet LED task lighting: Approximately 20 feet of LED track-style lighting, powered by three transformers for optimal distribution and control.
- In-cabinet accent lighting: A low-voltage puck light in the cabinet by the refrigerator to highlight storage and improve visibility.
- Appliance and countertop power: New, dedicated circuits for the dishwasher, disposal, refrigerator, microwave, and range; code-compliant wall outlets; and two outlets on the island for mixers, chargers, and everyday use.
- Lighting controls: Four dimmers furnished and installed to tailor brightness for prep, dining, and evening ambience.
- Crew support and coordination: Additional wireman assistance to maintain schedule and quality through rough-in and trim-out.
Why this upgrade matters
A 200 amp feed-through exterior panel increases available capacity and simplifies load distribution, helping prevent nuisance trips and allowing room for future additions. Whether adding more kitchen loads later or planning for other upgrades down the road, this service enhancement provides reliable headroom.
In the kitchen, low-profile wafer cans deliver even, shadow-free light without bulky housings. Under-cabinet LEDs put illumination directly on the work surface, improving safety and comfort during food prep. Dimmers offer flexible scenes for cooking, entertaining, and late-night cleanup, while the island pendant adds focused task lighting and style.
Code, safety, and permitting
All wiring and devices were installed to current code requirements for Concord, NC. We coordinated with the builder to provide access for new wiring pathways from the service location to the electrical panel, and the contractor added our team to the electrical permit. From rough-in through trim-out, our process emphasized safe routing, clean terminations, and thorough testing before energizing circuits.
Device finishes will be finalized at trim, with the homeowner selecting brown or black for a cohesive look that complements the kitchen design.
Results for the homeowner
The home now has a modern 200A electrical backbone and a kitchen lighting plan that’s bright, efficient, and easy to control. Dedicated appliance circuits and properly placed outlets support today’s high-demand kitchens, while the lighting layers—wafer cans, pendant, under-cabinet LEDs, and a puck light—create both function and ambience.
