Project Overview
200A meter base and panel upgrade in Charlotte with whole-home surge protection, grounding, new circuits/outlets, can lights, NEMA 14-50, and permitted inspection.
Customer feedback: 1.) My project took 5 full days to complete, which was actually faster than I had expected. Every day, Brian Cain the electrician arrived when expected. What was not expected was that he would notify me if he was leaving to get more materials or take lunch, and he let me know when he would return. 2.) As a former Crew Chief for a major airline, I tend to be overly critical of all work that is done for me, which is generally not looked upon favorably by contractors. With the work done by Brian, there was nothing to be critical of. It was flawless. 3.) I had several questions about the work he was doing, and why things were done in a certain way. He happily answered all of my questions clearly. Before the job was started, we discussed every aspect of the job to make sure we were on the same page, so in the end, every outlet every switch, and every light were exactly where I wanted them to be and the wires were routed in a manner that would reduce the possibility of any future issues; he did not have to guess, and I did not have to ask for things to be done over again. 4.) Perhaps this should have been first. I could have gone with a less expensive contractor, but after speaking with others, it was very clear that this company had it together. Theo understood code, which others clearly did not, and he provided options, which others were not inclined to do. 5.) I was originally planning to do this work myself with someone offering guidance, since I am very comfortable with this kind of work. After speaking with Theo, I realized this was the better option. Although hiring a contractor when I prefer to do my own work seemed like a lot of money, I know what materials cost, and what my time is worth. Knowing how hard Brian worked, and how many hours he put into the job, all I can say is that the price was very very fair.
