200-Amp Electrical Panel Upgrade Completed in Clover, SC
Touchstone Electric completed a residential electrical panel upgrade for Ricky Hamblin in Clover, SC. The existing panel showed slight signs of water damage, and several wires entering from the right side of the panel did not have proper connectors in place. These conditions can affect the protection and organization of an electrical system, so our team replaced the existing equipment with a new outdoor-rated 200-amp aluminum bus panel.
Mark Alaev completed the work for our Charlotte branch, helping bring the home’s electrical service panel up to current electrical code requirements while improving safety, grounding, circuit protection, and panel labeling.
New Outdoor Aluminum Panel and Circuit Breakers
The project included installation of a new 200-amp aluminum main panel. Our electricians reconnected the existing service entrance cable and branch circuits, grounded and bonded the panel, and labeled the updated electrical panel for clearer identification of circuits.
To support the home’s existing electrical needs, the installation included a range of new standard breakers:
- One 40-amp standard breaker
- One 30-amp double-pole standard breaker
- One 20-amp double-pole standard breaker
- Fourteen 20-amp standard breakers
Properly selected and installed breakers are an important part of protecting circuits from overcurrent conditions. The new panel also provides an organized foundation for the home’s electrical distribution system.
Grounding Rod Upgrade for Improved Electrical Safety
As part of this Clover electrical panel upgrade, Touchstone Electric installed a new grounding rod and replaced the grounding electrode conductor running continuously back to the main service panel. Effective grounding helps provide a safe path for certain electrical fault and surge conditions, supporting the overall safety of the service equipment.

During the installation, power needed to be disconnected. Touchstone Electric made a generator available for limited power usage during the outage, helping reduce disruption while the new service panel was installed and connected.
