Our Charlotte branch (Matthews) completed a code-compliant service upgrade for Peggy Hawkins in Bostic, NC on 02/28/2024. Lead technician Ben Lively installed a new 125-amp meter base and service panel, added weatherproof 20-amp outlets, and set a temporary overhead power pole to safely bring power to the site during the project.
This turnkey job included utility coordination, county permitting, grounding, and inspection scheduling—everything required to deliver safe, reliable service that’s ready for utility connection.
What We Installed
- 125A meter base and service panel: Professionally mounted in the backyard to support current loads and future needs while meeting local electrical code requirements.
- Temporary power pole (overhead service): An extra-tall pole with a meter/panel combo, weatherhead, riser, and USE cable, complete with a properly formed drop loop and required overhead clearances (12 ft above grade and 20 ft over roadways).
- Weatherproof 20A outlets: Two outdoor-rated, 20-amp receptacles for safe temporary power, including one located on the power pole to support tools and equipment.
- Grounding and bonding: Installed a ground rod and completed all grounding/bonding connections to enhance safety and system performance.
- Permits and inspection: Obtained the utility work order, pulled the county permit, and scheduled inspection to verify compliance and readiness for service.
