GFCI Dedicated Circuit & Outlet Installed in Charlotte
Our Charlotte team completed a 120V 15/20A dedicated circuit and standard outlet installation for Ivy Exterminating in Charlotte, NC. The work was performed by technician Viktor Opalko and finalized on July 21, 2025. This project ensures safe, reliable power for a single appliance location with modern ground-fault protection.
Project Overview
To provide clean, dependable power for equipment that should not share a circuit, we installed a new single-pole GFCI breaker in the electrical panel and ran up to 50 feet of new service wire to a dedicated outlet location. The new outlet is clearly labeled and isolated from other household loads, helping prevent nuisance tripping and voltage drop from shared-use circuits.
Scope of Work
- Evaluated panel capacity and selected the appropriate 15A or 20A 120V circuit based on load requirements.
- Installed a single-pole GFCI breaker for enhanced protection against ground faults.
- Routed and secured up to 50 feet of new service wiring to the outlet location.
- Installed a standard duplex outlet on the dedicated circuit.
- Labeled the breaker and outlet for easy identification and future service.
- Tested the GFCI functionality, confirmed proper polarity, and verified voltage under load.
If a panel is at capacity or requires updates, our electricians provide clear options and estimates to make room for a new breaker and keep the installation safe and code-conscious.
Why a Dedicated GFCI Circuit?
- Safety near moisture: GFCI protection reduces shock risk in garages, basements, and utility areas.
- Appliance protection: Dedicated power helps sensitive or high-demand equipment run without sharing load.
- Fewer nuisance trips: Isolating the circuit prevents other devices from overloading or causing fluctuations.
- Code-aligned installation: Proper breaker sizing, wiring methods, and labeling support compliance with current standards.
