Project Overview
Touchstone Electric completed a professional 100 amp electrical subpanel installation in the laundry room of a home in Gastonia, NC. This upgrade was handled by our Charlotte Business Unit and dispatched from our Matthews branch to serve our neighbor in Gastonia. The work was completed on July 19, 2024 by technician Danny Bishop.
To safely route new conductors, our team made clean sheetrock cuts below the panel location and kept the work area tidy throughout the process. The result is a code-compliant subpanel that adds capacity for present and future household circuits.
Scope of Work
We furnished and installed a mid-sized indoor subpanel and completed all associated tasks for a reliable new 100 amp distribution point in the laundry room.
- Subpanel – Mid-sized (12/24, up to 125A): Indoor-rated panel sized for current needs and future expansion.
- 100A 2-Pole Breaker: Dedicated subpanel feeder protection for consistent performance.
- (4) 15A Standard Breakers: For bathroom lighting (installed to meet 2020 code requirements) and standard branch circuits.
- (1) 20A GFCI Breaker: Protection for areas such as bathrooms, laundry, garage, and exterior as required.
- SER 1/0 4-Wire Feeder (15 ft): Properly sized service-entrance cable to connect the main panel to the new subpanel.
- Additional Electrician Support: A wireman assisted to ensure an efficient, high-quality installation.
- Electrical Permit: We filed the electrical permit with the county and performed work to current code standards.
All sheetrock cuts were made neatly below the panel to accommodate the feeder and conductors, leaving the space ready for any finish work the homeowner may choose.
