A Sump Pump Needs Reliable Power Before The Storm
- Panel capacity reviewed before adding the load
- Dedicated sump pump circuit planned and labeled
- Crawl-space wiring and outlet location checked
- Finished outlet tested before the pump was put back in service

A sump pump circuit should not be an afterthought
The old page described a process that started with the panel and followed the wiring path to the sump pump location. That is the right order. Before adding an outlet or circuit, we need to know whether the existing panel can support the load and whether the route to the pump can be protected.
For a crawl-space or basement pump, the outlet location matters too. It should be accessible enough for service, protected for the environment, and tested before the pump is counted on. If you are not sure what else is on the circuit, an electrical inspection can help find the answer. Work completed by Touchstone Electric is backed by the Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty.
